Mesh Nest (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates meshnest.co.za and sells home-automation products and related services in South Africa. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and share personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

2. Information we collect

Identity and contact: name, email, phone, delivery and billing address, account login.
Order and payment: products ordered, invoices, payment status. Card details are processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers.
Technical: IP address, browser, device, pages viewed, cookies and similar technologies.
Communications: messages sent via the contact form, email, or account.
Optional: reviews, gallery submissions, newsletter opt-in.

We do not intentionally collect special personal information or information about children under 18. Do not submit such data unless we have asked for it in writing.

3. How we collect it

Directly from you when you create an account, place an order, request a quote, or contact us.
Automatically when you use the site (cookies, logs).
From service providers who process payments, shipping, or analytics on our behalf.

4. Why we use it

To process orders, deliveries, returns, warranties and invoices.
To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
To respond to enquiries and provide support.
To improve the shop, prevent fraud and keep the site secure.
To send order updates. Marketing emails only if you have opted in; you can unsubscribe at any time.
To comply with tax, consumer and other legal duties.

Lawful bases under POPIA include contract, legal obligation, legitimate interests (running a secure shop), and consent where we ask for it (marketing, optional analytics cookies).

5. Sharing

We share personal information only as needed with:

Payment gateways and banks.
Couriers and installation partners fulfilling your order.

Authorities when the law requires it.

We do not sell personal information. Some processors may store data outside South Africa. Where that happens we require appropriate safeguards.

7. Retention

We keep order and tax records for as long as the law requires (typically at least five years). Account and enquiry data is kept while the account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards, then deleted or anonymised unless we must keep it.

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures (HTTPS, access control, payment-provider tokenisation). No online service is completely secure.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
